Being able to find that line between being ineffectual and inconsiderate should be the first task of anyone who wants to be a leader.

Too often, the aggressively assertive win out over the considerate. And the considerate become less assertive and less direct to avoid mimicking any aggressive behaviour.

But, like you’ve pointed out, it’s possible to be kind and assertive.

Indeed, kindness often requires it.
