I'm Kiall.

I write about science, psychology, philosophy and life. And I write to communicate and question ideas.

I created The Thinkery and co-created The AI Academic.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and Communications, a Graduate Certificate in Behavioural Economics, and a Master’s in Psychology in Business and Economics. I've also studied physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, philosophy, economics, history, data science and politics.

But here's a rapid-fire summary in list form: was once a circus performer, a Mormon, a heavy metal bassist, a wannabe physicist, and I've worked as a bartender and stock manager, as a bartender at a live music venue, as a server in a bakery, in a cake shop, in a Bondi beach bottle shop, stacking shelves overnight at a supermarket, a delivery driver for another bakery, in records management at a public dental hospital, as a labourer at an arts theatre, as the warehouse and logistics manager of an event company, as a short-lived pizza chef, an entrepreneur and a scientific researcher.

And also as a freelance writer, which, I guess, is what I am now.
